Have you ever noticed in church (or other meetings) that quite often
that when the
person then conducting the service makes a statement/declaration/
whatever
which requires congregational response, there often is someone
who makes the response a split second before the congregation as
a whole? And this is done repeatedly throughout the response and
the service/meeting such as recitation of prayers.

What is that called (if it has a name)?

What is the cause?

Thanx a lot experts.

I don't think so... but you may be right.

Hope you had a nice holiday. I did.

Leading the congregation? Rubbing it in?

Without asking the person/s who do this, I don't see how one
can answer your question. I'm not sure that the"'guilty" party
realizes what he/she is doing. But if they do, it may well be
a case of "leading." I don't understand what you mean by
"rubbing it in."

. . . . .

Which is correct: 8+5 is 12, or 8+5 are 12 ?
